Get to Know the Faces behind HTC

HTC (formerly Hannah’s Treasure Chest) is a nonprofit charity organization dedicated to providing essential items to those in need. Founded in 2001, we have grown to 8 employees and over 75 volunteers who help us fill care package orders for those in need. We take pride in our mission to ensure local families receive the items they need, especially during difficult times. We are passionate about helping others and grateful for all the donations and support we have received throughout the years.

VOLUNTEER- TOY ROOM LEADER, HTC

A long-time resident of Centerville, Sue began her service to the community as her four children became involved with Girl and Boy Scouts. “While my girls were in Scouts, I served what was then the Buckeye Trails Council as area chairwoman, and held the position of Secretary on the Board of Trustees for 13 years,” Sue said.

For several years, Sue acted as a facilitator between Normandy Church and community scouting troops that used the church’s facilities. In addition, she helped set up and coordinate a support group for widows that is still going strong after 23 years.

Sue is perhaps best known for her 27 years as a preschool teacher at the parent-owned Children’s Cooperative Preschool (CCP) that was located at Normandy Church. When CCP closed its doors in 2005, Sue brought donations from her classroom to HTC and became involved in volunteering. She has been a strong supporter and full-time volunteer with the organization since that time.

“I knew when I left the preschool that I wanted to continue doing things to help children,” Sue said. “I have found that in the work I do with HTC.”
